

His research on addiction primarily involves the use of neurofeedback and neuroelectrophysiology in better understanding the psychophysiology of addiction, in order to develop innovative treatments that break out of the psychopharmacological paradigm which dominates psychiatry and the medical field. Stewart's entire career has been dedicated to the treatment of addiction, involving teaching, research, clinical work, and social advocacy. He is also a certified group psychotherapist with the International Registry of Group Psychotherapy.ĭr.
